Film Friendly Program

The Palm Springs Bureau of Tourism has launched a new website, www.psfilmfriendly.com, for film makers and producers sourcing locations in Palm Springs for upcoming movies, television commercials and advertising photo shoots. The “virtual film office” features an image library, a free film permit application and procedures and a directory of film-friendly locations.

Forever Marilyn

Forever Marilyn is the 26 ft. tall, 34,300 lbs. sculpture of Marilyn Monroe by American artist Seward Johnson inspired by a famous photograph taken by Bernard of Hollywood. She arrived in Palm Springs in May 2012 and stayed until the end of March 2014. PS Resorts spent many years working on her return to Palm Springs and she was officially welcomed back “home” on June 20, 2021!

Greater Palm Springs Restaurant Week

Greater Palm Springs Restaurant Week® is a 10-day dining event taking place at restaurants throughout the Coachella Valley. Participating restaurants offer special lunch and dinner menus at set prices for diners to enjoy.

Prices and meal periods vary by restaurant, and exclude beverages, tax and gratuity. Restaurant Week menus are offered during lunch and dinner hours only. Please check the restaurant listings online to ensure what menus are being offered during Restaurant Week.

DESERT X

Every other year the Coachella Valley and its desert landscape becomes the canvas for a curated exhibition of site-specific work by established and emerging artists, whose projects amplify and articulate global and local issues that may range from climate change to starry skies, from Tribal culture and immigration to tourism, gaming, and golf.

 

The art works, in various indoor and outdoor locations, are available free and offer visitors a way to see the Valley and reflect on serious and playful issues through the lens of the participating artists' creativity and work.

The Palm Springs International Film Festival (PSIFF)

The Palm Springs International Film Festival (PSIFF) is one of the largest film festivals in North America, welcoming 135,000 attendees each year for its lineup of new and celebrated international features and documentaries.

Tour de Palm Springs

The Tour de Palm Springs is growing from 385 cyclists to nearly 10,000! Cyclists arrive in Palm Springs from 48 states and many countries including Canada. The Tour de Palm Springs supports only local charities, and since 1999 was able to donate over $3,100,000. The Tour is supported by over 1,500 volunteers, spanning from school bands, to rotary clubs.
